Cleaning pier over small lake

I have been asked to clean a pier over a small lake at the apartments where I have been cleaning the roofs. My only thought is to use hot water. Ideas?

Hot sure cleans better and since this place has given me 18 roofs I think a little hot water just might work better. I was hoping someone as had to do this.

I gotcha, we don't have any hot water units... We just use 8gpm cold water units.. We do docks every now and then since we live right on the bay. As of right now I don't know of any chems that you can use over the water that someone won't bust you for.. They might be out there im just un-aware of them.. Usually we just have to go at them with water alone.. And since they have given you 18 roofs it sounds like you will be doing the same!

Thanks Lee. If I didn't have the hot water unit I would do just as you do but the cost of a little diesel is not that big of a deal. Thanks for the heads up.

Yeah I agree on just using water whether it be hot or cold. Better safe than sorry.

Hot water is not good for wood. We use cold water only and pre treated with Russ Johnsons wood cleaner or BT200

Thanks Doug but I cannot use any chemicals on this deck. They are planning to paint it with the stuff from Home Depot that fills in the cracks... can't remember what it's called. They just want it clean so they can put that coating on it. If hot water is bad then I'll use only cold.
