What on your "Critical Backup" parts list?

Looking your ideas for the most you all consider your "Critical Backup" list.

What do you always have extra with you on the job or in your rig?

I am putting together some of my own but wanted input from the group.

Thanks!

My residential truck and my hot water commercial trailer have spares for every piece of equipment on them. That includes but is not limited to: nozzles, wands, guns, fittings, clamps, o-rings, electrical connectors, 12 volt pumps, belts, ds injectors, balls and springs, teflon and electrical tape, filters. oil(engine and pump), general lubricants, plastic sheeting, tools, ball valves.

I learned years ago to have a back up for a back up. Nothing more embarrassing and costly as having a pump go down in the middle of a job that you can't finish due to lack of planning.

Backup gas. Yes. I've run out of gas more than once and had to roll up hoses to go refill.

I keep extra garden hose too.  Never know when you'll need an extra 100' or so.

 Bryan,

How much hose (PW, Roof and garden) do you carry on your truck? How many hose reels?

I have 3 reels. 200 PW, 300 Roof, and 100 garden on the reel and another 100 on standby if we need it.

I suppose it does depend on the size of your tank(s),..what your preferred engines/tools,  work being done, etc, etc,..,..Being full at the start of the day is just a good habit everyone should get into,.... everyone should start the day with  full tank,.whether they fill up at the end of the day,..or the next morning,... I can do either,..depends on where I am and/or  where I'm going the next day.  But I always have a (2) gallon can of gas on board. Another good habit to get into.

I tried to find Art's video of all the spare parts.

If it can break it will. If it can break it will in the middle of the big job in the middle of no where!

Spare belts for the pressure washer.

Yeah Art's video is great. I didn't even know what some of that stuff was when I started but I bought a box full of stuff from that video. All great stuff to have on hand. I think it was titled "what's in the tool box?" Or something like that.

Make sure you have at least two spares of all fittings, clamps, valves, solenoid, fuses, 12V pump, etc... Have all the spares and tools so that you can fix anything in the field without having to go back to the shop. Like a battleship, you don't want to be dead in the water.

A slight understatement......... it should also say 4 of each fitting.....any and all. Plus some.

Don't forget the fittings to fix the garden hose that the homeowner is going to run over or is going to get cut on the sharp edge of concrete.

Which reminds me.....First aid kit and eye wash, you'll need them.

Here is a example of "Critical Back Up" This morning while doing two house washers we found a pine hole crack in our K7 unloader which resulted in a huge pulsating while working. After a two minute examination to find the problem I swapped out the K-7 unloader with a spare we keep on the truck. Tomorrow I'm going to ACR Products, which is a 30 minute drive for me, to pick up another spare. Just imagine if I didn't have a spare. No down time as it's pouring rain tomorrow.

You can think you have a back up for everything until that one thing breaks and there is no back up!
