I'm just curious Brian, how can they put a ban on someones private well on their own property?

Would you get a trailer just for a large tank?

When we have a water ban here,..as long as you are operating a business you are exempt from the ban. Just like car washes, laundromats, ice houses, etc,etc,..I figured it was that way everywhere? I agree with Brett,..how can they put water restrictions on your private well? I think what it amounts to is,..they say it but I doubt they can,..or are even willing to enforce it.

I haul water all the time,..especially if the customer is on a well,..many wells here would not withstand the large amount of water use in a short period of time. Not to mention,..city water is conditioned and rinses from windows better, soaps better as well.

The town I live in put watering ban in effect last year and I questioned the town because it is my own private well. All they said was that the police were enforcing it. I'm looking into putting a water tank in my pickup truck.

Hey Brian,..I have a 300 gallon capacity,..but on jobs that are on city water,..I typically just take enough to buffer.

We bandy this back and forth around here all the time... Several rural customers want us to do their homes, but they do not have enough water. I have totes, but we can use a 1000 gallons of water on a large project, so we just have not got into the hauling business.

We checked into having water delivered, and that was not the issue. The issue was having a 1000- 1500 gallon reservoir to empty the truck water into. We just have not found the fit yet on this one.

Hey Steve,..always keep in mind,..it's all about money,..If a customer wants me to to their wash work,..and it takes me four or more loads,..then I tell them that,.and charge them accordingly,..it's up to them in the end,..not me. I will haul water all day long,...as long as they want to pay for it. I couldn't do a viable business here if I didn't haul water. I never turn anyone down due to water,..it's entirely up to them.

Like many of my fellow rural PA based brothers we have hauled water several times over the years. All were roof cleanings in the state gamelands. Many of these rural hunting cabins have no water at all on site. Yes they are roughing it.

We charge $300 to haul water to these sites.

We have a disclaimer that if we are fined for water use during a ban, its up to the customer to pay it. Unless of course they inform us about it. Some towns you just never know unless you happen to see a sign. Maybe a couple ibc totes on a trailer?
