How would you handle this copper dormer if cleaning this roof?  It's not real dirty up there so I could likely avoid it, but assume it's gonna get sprayed. This house also has copper gutters.

Not sure if you're talking about the vent (pictured) or the two side dormers....but yeah, what Dave said. Usually only an issue if they are real hot from the sun and you hit them with a strong mix.

Yeah, it's the little half round vent. It also has copper gutters on two sides.

No problem. If the hot sun isn't baking it then I don't personally worry about them. We have tons of copper vents, awnings and gutters. We wet the awnings but never do anything about the gutters other than rinse them after we shoot an area.

Most homes over here have copper gutters. Like everyone said wet them. You can also make that copper look new again with a quick buff. There are post on here of how to clean copper.

I don't want to clean the copper, just don't want to make it look uneven by overspraying it.  Thanks for the help, everyone.

If anything wet it down before and after. And if you do spray it with mix, I generally just spray it down evenly, then rinse well.

I'm confident in the advice of my compadres here. :) pre-wetting is how I've always handled copper when house washing, but wondered if the roof mix would need different handling.

I'd go with that.  Just wash it down afterwards and clean the mold off.  Just keep it even so the finished job looks good.

That's a big house. We similar over here but usually rendered so it's easy. They only build in concrete or rendered houses over here. Most new houses are brick. Seems we get it easy compared to USA.

Cheers, Pete
