Here's how we spent the weekend. Adding a booster pump to the skid. Removed the old two pump 12 volt system that was hard to access and in the way. We've got a lot more room on the skid right now.  Should have flipped the camera! smile

Good stuff Bry. I need to order a new booster and reel. One of my old cox reels has just about disintegrated. Eventually they will all be upgraded to Titans.

Nice Bryan! The booster has messed up our scheduling. The jobs are getting done much faster!

I don't understand why you want to keep paying big money for hose reels that wear out too soon Doug. I have four Liberty hose reels and one is 7 years old with only one Proportioner replacement. When it comes to low pressure, this is what I use for both trucks. Of course, this is my opinion and you know what they say about those! I thought about electric but then I remembered my guys need the exercise!

Liberty - 68.00

Titan - 245.00 - 350.00 depending on the reel

Patrick. not mine. I demand my helper to go flip the power switch when I'm not spraying. 😜 Now...Ray's works that way (saw a video) but it's top secret how it works.

After using it for one day, I can see why! A remote would be nice to have.

Bryan, the Power Wash Store sells a remote.

Brett, this will be the first reel I have had to replace because of rust. I only bought more reels because I got bigger....I mean the company of course.....

I do have some electric at somewhere just south of $650 each. I need more because I'm intending to launch my third truck again but It won't happen til just after the first of the year. I'm looking for a truck to build now though.

I'm surprised those Liberty reels hold up to the juice Brett. What are you using for swivels?

I don't change a thing. I do change the fitting to accept the 1/2" hose. The old one I changed the galvanized T to schedule 80 but that really wasn't necessary because the galvanized T was still in good shape. As with everything I have, it gets rinsed well. The only maintenance needed are the O rings on occasion and a little anti rust/lubricant spray. Minor maintenance goes a long way!

I was thinking a pressure switch with an isolator but Mike said I would burn up the contacts fast. I will be adding a remote.

The remote option doesn't seem all that difficult. Lots of options that are designed for power tools. The one PWS has is nice and pretty but I have no idea what it cost.

I'm pretty sure Tim will be releasing a new "thing" that will be a shut off for the booster of some sort. It won't be a remote but something else.

They are taking orders for a pressure switch now, where it will shut the booster off if you arent spraying... $450, though.  Yikes.  Was hoping it would be lower.  Looks like i will be ordering the remote that Jim posted.  biggrin

On a related note, my booster has been working great thanks to the help I got here.  I'll post an update in the booster thread i started soon.

So I am thinking about a booster pump this 2019, no Proportioner just rt from a batch mixing tank...then to the reel. This is what I gathered so far. It does not self prime. You can let it idle for about a minute before spraying or shutting it off. So Bryan this post is a year old, what do you think of the booster and has anyone tried the switch Mike suggested?

We've been using the remote and it works great. The only problem I had is they would stop working. I thought they were getting burned up because I couldn't rest them. I called and found the directions on the side are wrong and since have reprogrammed and all is working well.

If you draw from a tank you will have to put a T in with two valves. One valve from your tank and one from fresh water. You will need water from the house to prime it and also to rinse it. Turn off the valve to your tank and you can send water to the pump. I hope that makes sense.

When you are going to spend $700.00 on a pump, $75.00 for a remote will be well spent.
