Out with the (Old) and in with the (New)

For the last 4 years I  have worked out of a van and to be honest it was a great vehicle and I would definitely build another one but I felt it was time for a change. I was also not looking forward to building my next truck( Sorry Art Oliveri) and I have always built my own equipment. I did go with a Power Wash Store skid and it wasn't cheep. After having it for the last few months I couldn't believe how much faster this new system was compared to my other system. I thought my older system was fast but it doesn't compare to this new system.

Looks great! Nice rig. Is that little Honda generator running a booster pump? What size booster and what size generator. Looks really compact.

Yes that Honda Generator is running the booster pump. I didn't want to plug into homeowners electrical outlets. I went round and round with the size of the generator with Bill at the powewash store. They recommend a 4000watt generator but I went to an actual generator store and I brought the truck with me because I was being told this little generator wouldn't run the booster pump. It is a 3/4hp booster. It is a EU2000 and it has inverter technology which is different from the normal generator it has and instant amp rating with no surge. Super quiet and has built in fuel pump so it can be hooked up to an extended run tank. It also come with a 3 year unconditional warranty

This inverter generator has 13.3 amps instant and a surge of over 16amps. The generator store told me this generator will run the 1hp Gould booster

Great info, especially when space is at a premium.  That thing is tiny!  I imagine a lot of people would be very surprised to learn this.

Yeah that generator is super compact. I might buy one. I've got a PWS skid as well. You pulling fuel out of the skid tank?

Yes I have the generator pulling gad out of the auxiliary gas tank on the skid.

 Pat

I haven't used 12v in years. I was using Air diaphragm (All-flo). Distance on the booster is the best distance out of everything I have ever used.

That looks so much easier than the Van. Ever since we switched to the booster pump and stopped batch mixing it has been difficult scheduling since jobs go so much faster. That truck looks really nice.

Thank for the compliments ( Mike, Erik, Brett, Ray)
The Proportioner is a game changer but my van had it's moments. I did stack all the hose reels and controls near the doors. I would definitely build one again but we needed a truck this time around.

Brian I have been looking at your type skids at PWS. A small one looks like it would run about 8 grand. Seems like a lot of moving parts ( valves ) and Im worried how long they would last and the ease and expense to replace them. The skid I have now has like 4 valves, one malfunctioned internally on me and it took like eight hours to find the defective part....I wound up bypassing all of them. Have You had this setup since the beginning of this season?

Pat
I have had this skid for approximately 3 months. I wanted to get it at the end of my season so I could get all the kinks out. It took some learning in the beginning to figure out how everything worked. I actually filled all the tanks with colored water and I practice mixing and setting it up before I filled it with chemical and soaps. I have a full understanding of how this skid is built and if something breaks or fails I will be able to fix it

Thanks. I highly recommend the Wizard and I also love the Liquiforce controller from Russ Johnson. It has taken a while to get a system together but me and my son have got everything dialed in. With out a doubt we have doubled our daily production

Beautiful setup Brian, I seem to be falling way behind in equipment. I don't have a booster pump, remote control etc etc. Starting to feel sorry for myself now. How does the Liquidforce controller work Brian?
Do any of you guys have issues with over spray etc with the booster pump. A lot of our work is in housing estates so we usually put the chemical through a telescopic pole and brush.

Mike it's not so shinny anymore.
The Liquiforce is a remote control shut off for the down streamer. It so you don't have to go back to the truck
