I was surprised as well! Fortunately I have three left who show up on time every day, without complacency and attitude!. I hope I don't have to go the south of the boarder route. I tried a guy over four years ago. Although he had been here legally for 17 years he still lacked some important things. One big S/H was the day he asked if a gallon was a milk jug after he sprayed a roof with a 70% mix! I found out the next day when I stopped him mixing. Thank God for the down pour later that day.

Our talent pool is very shallow up here. New guy called out the 2nd time this morning. Of course he doesn't call me but calls my other employee instead. He's gone.

The sad part is that it doesn't matter how much you pay them, if they suck they will always suck. No call no shows are the worst. Pretty soon I will be doing house calls to see if they are really there.

It's this generation. They don't care much for working. Their parents wanted "the best" for them and didn't want them to have to "work hard" like they had to. We are now experiencing the results of those good intentions good bad.

i have 2 Venezuelans ones been here from age 3 and other just came here.

both bust ass and are so pro American and conservative after being under a repressive regime.

they get it and hate illegal immigration and the ms-13 gang shit coming across the border.

i have had many legal salvadorian employees who tell me they fear the new crop coming to long island that are the problem that they are fleeing from.

the "millennials" growing up here in America are Lost Boys.

my guy who came here at 3, hated it and went back at 8. realized how f'kd up Venezuela was and came back at 18 with dreams of working hard and owning his own business eventually is my mass of clay im molding into a top guy of Manhattan penthouse's and Hamptons painting work ethic.

while roof cleaning and other exterior cleaning doesn't compare directly, far less stringent. the work ethic level and professionalism with customers does. That's what separates Pros from Whoahs!
