YIKES! One of my competitors in the Tallahassee market washed a five story building with WAY too strong of a solution and ZERO care for landscaping. The result was tens of thousand of dollars in landscape damage. Ironically I washed this building 2.5 years ago in the middle of the summer and had ZERO damage then, but a new property mangers took over who has a "friend" in the business and we lost the account.

Man Ray,..they worked hard to get the bushes in picture (7). They must have been spraying in the dark. Maybe the manager saved $100.00 using the other guy.

Damn thats bad. Was he doing this himself or did he just not care to water anything?

It could have been as simple as having maintenance turn on irrigation system for each side they were working on.

So many guys think they can just get a pressure washer, 12v pump and a tank. Go to work without any practice or research. The list is endless of things to learn in this business. Great post Ray, this just shows guys starting out what can happen. Also keeps everyone else on there toes.

 I agree. Those azaleas are under a cantilever portion of the building and out of the direct drip line! He had to WORK to spray those down enough to cause damage!

Wow! Hoepfully there wasn't any cars near that building when they were "cleaning" it....

Must have been a lots of over spray for the trees and azaleas to get it that bad....

 Even if that is the case, the carelessness here is totally unacceptable. A responsible person could have sprayed the concrete  and done no damage at all, compared to what is essentially a wipe out ,....I think it's carelessness,..as opposed to not knowing what to do.  In either case, this is what gives the washing business a bad name as a whole. 

*Wonder if the guy who did this got paid,.or maybe it was done in-house?

That's a major call back!



Unfortunatley, It creates a black cloud over exterior cleaners - when this very avoidable / careless stuff happens.
After something like that, it really does not matter how clean the dwelling looks.

 No way this came for washing the concrete. The damage is from  a "top drip" not a side spray. I know the guy who did it, had a company years ago, had to quit due to similar stuff. Reopened his business last year with new name/new trucks. Does crap work, but is sadly a VERY aggressive marketer.

True story though, right now he's in jail for VOP, was slipping off his monitoring ankle bracelet and leaving it in his work truck while guys were on the job. Charges form Breaking and entering and grand theft (he's a peach of a guy with a history of drug/theft charges) Talked to an associate of the PM who is frustrated that he won't call back, LOL!!!!!!!!
