Some people stay within a few miles of their home/office. Being rural, I have to go an hour at times do do an estimate due to no street view and bad satellite pictures. The more rural, they have a hard time finding someone close by to do the job properly. The trip to MD is to see my son, not for work.

Also, we have some fly by night guys popping up as well as those who work for beer money. 

One of the ladies in the office is on a war path against the people who are not legit and deceiving. One guy we know for sure claims he's licensed. In VA there is no contractors license for pressure washing. We are considered cleaners. The license he produces is a business license.

We spend a lot of time explaining to our potential customers what soft washing is but few understand if they hire someone who is not insured, they are liable in the event there is an issue.

Hell I traveled an hour yesterday for an estimate. I charged good money now I have to go back!. Brett try living on Long Island. We are 10 miles wide. I have 5 cleaners in my town alone. They are all running adwords and low balling everybody. Then we have all the NY city people moving out here to get away from the Mayor the voted in.

I have heard from you all (youse guys) on LI and NJ talk about this for years, seeing the hacks come and go charging beer money. Of course I can't miss the news about people leaving so that must make it even harder. That ten mile drive must have worn you out!

One local fellow I called down here is advertising he is licensed and insured. It turns out he has a driver's license, no kidding. I guess he also has car insurance , so he's licensed and insured. I'm also seeing some $99 dollar house wash ads now. I am laying low until November and hoping our snowbirds fly south this year. But as for travel, I have 7 nice mobile home parks within a mile of me. There are 77 in Bradenton alone. Then there are several new large manufactured home communities here that are really nice. I'm working on getting some ads in their online monthly resident's news letters to start. I have updated my simple website about 100 times so far. I finally got a before and after picture on my home page. It is showing 100 deg on my porch thermometer. Stay well..
