Hey guys,

I'm sure some of you probably already use this, but it has revolutionized the way we clean. If you aren't using it, or if you don't have one on your truck/setup, you're missing out. I will never had a truck/trailer outfitted without one.

I just wanted to share this tidbit of advice for anyone who is interested.

Surface Cleaner: Mosmatic FL-EG 300 Universal 12" Surface Cleaner

Check it out.

Nothing better than surface cleaners. We have 3 - 20", 1 - 30" and 1 - 12".

To the original poster: When using these in larger sizes,..GPM is everything. A general rule of thumb is that the diameter of the surface cleaner should not be more than 4-5 inches per gallon per minute.

Example: A 16" or less surface cleaner will work best with 4 Gallon Per Minute Washer.

If you want to see a truly impressive combo: Use a Whisper Wash Classic 19" with a 10 GPM washer. Very Very fast!!

* On a side note,..I had a Whisper Wash that had to be weighted down,..the next one I bought didn't need weighted??

Used the Whisper Wash Big Guy 28" the other day to clean ALOT of concrete,..so glad to have it. The Big Guy has wheels which is really nice for large areas,.but the Whisper Wash Classic 19" is a floater,..and is my residential surface cleaner. The floating allows for infinite maneuverability, way better than wheels.

Hey guys,

I guess I should have added some more context to my post... I have had a 24 inch surface cleaner since I went into business, but did not invest in the 12 inch mosmatic until about a year ago. I was using a wand to clean decks, roofs, chimneys, etc... and it was a huge waste of time compared to the 12 inch universal surface cleaner. It has been a game changer for cleaning decks, roofs, steps, chimneys, etc... and that is what I thought I'd share with the community.

To Jeff: I hear you when you say "When using these in larger sizes,..GPM is everything. A general rule of thumb is that the diameter of the surface cleaner should not be more than 4-5 inches per gallon per minute." but here's the thing. My 4 gpm machine doesn't clean as good as my 5 gpm machine with the 12 inch universal surface cleaner and the 5 gpm machine doesn't clean as good as my 8 gpm machine and for context, these machines are very close in psi.

Lastly... got an 8 gpm machine about a month ago and wow... I highly doubt I'll ever use anything again lol... the 8 is amazing and everything I thought I'd worry about has been nullified. I can elaborate more on that if anyone wishes to hear about it.

Thanks for all the responses.

The only thing I would say about the 8 GPM,...is I would have recommended going straight to a 10 GPM. I did the same thing, I used an 8 GPM for about 2 years,..and then went to 10 GPM,..unbelievable what the extra 2 GPM does.

*The 8 GPM will be fine,...but when it's time to replace get a 10 GPM. 10 GPM is the largest you can EFFECYIVELY utilize through 3/8" hose.

So what 12" are you guys using? I've been thinking about picking one up for stuff like retaining walls steps basically anything (except roofs lol)

The same surface cleaner used between all those different GPM's requires changing nozzles. I'm sure the surface cleaner does killer work when you move from a 5 to an 8. The size of the surface cleaner has nothing to do with what it does and doesn't do. We bought a 12" years ago (not an over priced Mozmatic though) but only use it on walls and stairs. Decks get the 20'. I can't imagine doing a deck with a 12' surface cleaner.

We will stick with  5.5 and 6.5 machines. We do so much rural work with wells it would ruin our days even more. Problems running out of water is a much bigger issue. We love the rural estates!

Hey Brett,..you are exactly right about the nozzle size,..Matching the GPM to the nozzles is crucial. Although I know this,..I never gave it any thought....just seemed second nature. So, a 4 GPM machine can operate a Whisper Wash 19" with the correct nozzles,..just the same as I can with 10 GPM. The 10 being much faster is the main thing,..but you're right,..it's not the deck size,..it's the nozzles.
