Southern California Roof Cleaning

Hello guys im new to this website as I just got approved. I've been looking everywhere on the process of cleaning roofs out here in California. I learned the Softwash methods but that doesn't seem to cut it since the yellow lichen is dry. Do I apply solution wait 6-8 weeks then come back and hose it down? Try the low pressure wash on a roof at 1,000,1500 psi?. Is there anyone on these forums that could send me the right direction for the process. Preferably someone with experience with the organic matter here in Southern California. Thank you! Good day!

Hey there Miguel,..I have never seen very many people from California on these boards, especially when it come to roof cleaning. I'm not sure of the "Yellow Lichen: you're talking about,..but here in Pa we have typical light green lichen. What type of roof material are you cleaning? Can't really use pressure on shingles to remove lichen,..just kill it and allow it to disappear over time. Explained to the customer properly they will understand. If you use pressure to remove lichen from asphalt shingles you will likely remove the granules that are under the lichen,..exposing the asphalt based underlayment to the effect of UV from the Sun.
